COP18: Nepal’s Dalit communities fight for climate adaptation aid

COP18 (05/12/12) – Sunil Kumar Pariyar, National Chairperson, DANAR Nepal talks about the impacts of climate change on vulnerable Dalit communities who are already being discriminated against.

He said these communities must raise their voice as they will be victims of climate change. He says most of the Dalit people are farmers and forests dwellers, and are most in need of climate adaptation.

He says his work focuses on how international climate aid is going from the international to national level, as the Dalit people are discriminated against and do not get access to this aid.
