COP19: World Coal and Climate Summit Review

COP19 (18/11/13) – Protestors gathered outside the World Coal Association’s annual meeting where Milton Catelin, Chief Executive of the Association said the industry is interested in engaging in discussions on how they can reduce emissions but still keep coal as part of the energy mix.

Medical students present brought model lungs with them to highlight the danger of coal to our health.

Baroness Bryony Worthington says the coal industry has had plenty of time to clean up its act, but is now being left behind by increasing demand for renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
